Membership Meeting Set for Monday, June 19
Please mark your calendar. The Union is scheduled to hold an extraordinary membership meeting on Monday, June 19 at 6:30 p.m. at room 102PN on the Pharmaceutical Sciences campus.
The main business is bonus. Are you ready to accept a management proposal that the teaching and office staff's annual bonus amount be reduced on grounds of lower anticipated revenues and enrollment? The simple fact is that when both revenues and enrollment were on the rise in the good old days, the employee bonus was kept unchanged. Also, in normally run organizations, first executives cut their bonus figures before asking the rank and file to accept it, too. Not at our university.
The meeting would also discuss the Union steering committee proposal that Prof. Kazumichi Goga be invited to deliver a speech at a party to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Union establishment on Saturday, July 15. He is a professor of labor economics at Kanazawa University's School of Economics who also teaches part-time at Hokuriku's Faculty of Law.
