Hatsugai vs. Kitamoto
How He Was Threatened
Union members soon will have a rare opportunity to learn how Prof. Yoshihiko Hatsugai was threatened by chairman Yoshiro Kitamoto in his unsuccessfulbid to force the law teacher out.  An audio tape will be played on Friday, January 12 at the Union's extraordinary general membership meeting at Room 202PN on the Pharmaceutical Sciences campus. The tape is slated to be submitted as material evidence by Hatsugai-san's lawyer to a Kanazawa
District Court judge on the same day.
The crucial tape records the conversation between the professor and president Susumu Kawashima, the only third-party witness to what happened at the chairman's office on September 14.
The evidence will hopefully convince every member that, yes, a Japanesesword was demonstrated by the chairman, as reported by, among others, theHokuriku Chunichi daily on December 28. The paper said that the sword withsome 80-centimeter cutting edge was placed a few centimeters off Hatsugai-san'sthroat.
